Todd Greene is the manager for government and community economic development services at the Enterprise Innovation Institute. In this role, Greene is responsible for overseeing EI2's efforts in economic development planning, readiness and strategic assessments, fiscal and economic analysis, tourism development and research, and professional development, among others.
Greene also oversees EI2's Public Entity Environmental Management System Resource Center, or PEER. A virtual clearinghouse, it is specifically designed to aid local, county and state governments that are considering implementing or have implemented an environmental management system (EMS) and want to access the knowledge and field experience of other public entities that have done so.
Prior to his current position, Greene served as manager for information technology services, overseeing a variety of information technology initiatives designed to assist communities and companies throughout Georgia, including EDI's IT solutions centers in Albany, Atlanta and Dublin. In addition to assisting communities with addressing the merger of information technology and economic development, Greene authored several related papers and has been a frequent presenter to audiences within Georgia and throughout the nation.
Before joining Georgia Tech, Greene was a private consultant responsible for negotiating telecommunications franchises on behalf of municipalities. He also served in various technology-related management roles at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and at Southwestern Bell.
Greene is currently a director for the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) and the past chairperson of GEDA's technology committee. He is a graduate of the Buckhead Leadership Program class of 2003 and a certified economic developer (CEcD). He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and holds master's degrees in organizational development and public administration from Washington University and Georgia State University.
