ATLANTA – Jennifer Singh, sustainability catalyst at Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), has joined the board of directors of Techstars Atlanta.

Techstars is a pre-seed investor that has helped founders succeed since 2006 through its global accelerators and vast network of alumni, mentors, partners, and investors. From 2016 to 2024, the Techstars Atlanta program was backed by Cox Enterprises and became an integral part of Atlanta’s tech ecosystem, supporting more than 90 startups across nine accelerator classes.

Recently the organization restructured its funding model, transitioning from corporate backing to community support. It was this new direction that inspired Singh, who has previously served as a mentor for the Techstars Atlanta Impact program, to get involved and help steer the group’s new direction.

“Techstars Atlanta is vital to Atlanta’s startup ecosystem,” she said. “We need to continue expanding our local resources for our early-stage founders. I was really drawn to the program’s new community-based approach, which will enable more ecosystem members to connect with and engage in the success of our local startups.”

Singh’s board position is a natural development from other similar roles she’s held. For the past five years, she’s been on the board of Startup Atlanta, serving as its president in 2022. “Being able to extend my support for another local organization is very much within my ethos and how I like to drive impact locally,” she said of her work with Techstars Atlanta.

For Singh, collaboration is at the heart of any startup ecosystem, and she views the mission of ATDC as dovetailing neatly with that of Techstars Atlanta. Many Techstars Atlanta graduates are also ATDC portfolio companies, since ATDC is a natural long-term home for entrepreneurs who have completed Techstars Atlanta’s three-month accelerator program. Her new board position strengthens her ability to serve members of the startup community while also connecting them to each other.

“ATDC’s role is to coach and help grow our portfolio startups, and a bigger overarching goal is to grow the entire ecosystem,” she said. “We see ourselves as a central resource for the startup ecosystem, not just for Atlanta but for Georgia. We want to be the collaborative connective tissue helping our partners grow, so that we can drive greater collective impact across the region.”
