With his father’s blessing, one 70-year-old employee and a single table saw, Greg White set out 16 years ago to create his own venture in a 500-square-foot workshop building unfinished cabinets for wholesale customers. Today, Greg White and his son, Jonathan White, own and operate My Cabinet Factory in a 30,000-square-foot facility with a dozen workers.
A good staff, quality products and top-notch customer service is how the Whites said they, a domestic manufacturer, can compete with Chinese imports. Utilizing proven lean production techniques as designed by researchers at Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute, My Cabinet Factory strives to minimize waste of every kind. From recycling scrap wood into landscaping mulch to scientifically arranging production floor workflow, lean systems are designed to reduce cost, time and effort to maximize output. This is a fundamental element of My Cabinet Factory, the Whites said.
