The Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2) connects Georgia Tech undergraduate and graduate students to entrepreneurial opportunities around campus and within innovation-driven work environments. As a student, you will gain access to the entrepreneurial side of the Georgia Tech community, which will provide you with a long-term connection to the Institute and your overall career goals. By interacting with EI2, you will:
- Have the opportunity to turn your ideas into a technology-driven company through EI2 programs such as:
- Innovation Corps (I-Corps): prepares student entrepreneurs who are National Science Foundation (NSF) grantees with the ability to extend their research beyond the laboratory, leading to the commercialization of technology.
- Integrated Program for Startups (GT:IPS): provides training and support to students interested in launching companies based on Georgia Tech intellectual property.
- VentureLab: transforms Georgia Tech students’ innovative research into companies.
- Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC): through co-op and intern programs, students are able to learn alongside entrepreneurs within ATDC Select startups.
- Gain exposure to real-world experience before graduating by:
- Participating in projects led by corporations.
- Working as a student assistant for EI2.
- Conducting research for community-based partners.
- Becoming a co-op or intern for an industry or public sector EI2 client in areas such as manufacturing, healthcare, economic development, and more.
- Engage directly with industry professionals and faculty and staff from other universities through competitions and campus programs such as:
- Georgia Tech Research & Innovation Conference (GTRIC): captures and exhibits cutting-edge scientific and technical research conducted by graduate students.
- Inventure Prize: fostering an interest in invention, innovation, and an entrepreneurial lifestyle through a faculty-led innovation competition in which undergraduate students develop and present inventions.
- Convergence Innovation Competition: joins industry partners and students to develop innovative and commercially viable applications and services, with winning entries consisting of a working end-to-end prototype.
- Technological Innovation: Generating Economic Results (TI:GER Program): gain instruction in technology commercialization processes with a focus on intellectual property, technology law, and business fundamentals.
- Capstone Design: design, build, and test prototypes with real-world applications. At the end of each semester, students showcase their work at the Capstone Design Expo.
- Start-Up Competition: discover market opportunities for a start-up and create an innovative business model to address the need.
- Start-Up Gauntlet: participate in an intense, interactive customer discovery process to determine market fit for a start-up. Gain real-world market research experience before graduating.
In addition, through EI2 programs, you will obtain connections and access to companies and organizations in order to gain real-world, hand-on experience that top companies seek when recruiting for employees.
